Heyyo! I’m so happy you’re here.
I’m Maddie, a sweet-toothed, dessert-obsessed home baker and recipe developer. My goal is to help both new and seasoned bakers make unique and FUN desserts that’ll be in your regular rotation.
As a kid, I’d write down recipes in a composition notebook (peanut-fluffer-tella - a combination of PB, fluff and Nutella - was a stand-out). As a gal in her late 20s, I’m still doing the same thing, but with this you all on this substack!
I’m a firm believer that life’s best moments happen around food, and the biggest honor of my job is getting to help you form those memories with the people you love.
Some other deats about me: I grew up on Long Island, went to UNC Chapel Hill (where I was a DI rower and lived in a house with 7 other rowers and 2 fridges!!), and my most star-struck moment was meeting the dad from Drake & Josh on the LIRR.
I currently live in Brooklyn with my incredibly sweet fiancée Michaela and - in lieu of a dog - a whole lotta plants.
You can also find me on Instagram, TikTok and my blog as loaves and such! That name is legacy from when I started a blog about learning to bake bread for a class at UNC. It’s deceiving because I frankly don’t bake that much bread any more, so I decided for substack, desserts and such it is!
